Given Charles' high intellect, edu and reading conditions, can I just steal the summary you PM'd me? Yes, but in your own words.

HENRY (Reading the journal of Aaron Dubois.) Boy, would Charles be surprised when he gets here!
So... he changed his mind and switched books?
Edit: Also, information dumps will be revealed at the speed of Embarkation. Or Wildcat. Or durax.

Looking at Benjamin, Daniel stopped himself from speaking of the strange touch he felt.
Must be my imagination or this storm has me a bit worked up.
Turning back to the bed Daniel shined his light on it sure that if anything was in here it would be behind the curtains of the bed.
"Benjamin come here for a second" Daniel said, steeling himself before walking towards the bed.
Walking up to the bed he reaches out and opens the curtains of the canopy bed.
David spoke up as Daniel reached for the curtains "Daniel, why would you look there, no ones here." His voice trailed off, uncertain, as he watched him move the curtain.

With a slight shower of dust settling around, Daniel quickly realizes David is correct. The bed behind the canopy is slightly mouldy from years of disuse, but neatly made.

With a sigh of relief, a bit too visible to the others, Daniel turns around. "Well we can finish looking this room over with the others later."
After another quick look around the room, ensuring they didn't miss anything out of the ordinary David, Benjamin and Daniel walked out of the room.

HENRY (Looks up from his reading.) What was that noise?

Daniel starts hitting his torch, knowing the batteries were new. "Something must be wrong with this thing" he says before any of them reach the door.
The door slams shut in front of them.
"Something is definitely wrong." Daniel says looking up fron his torch to the door, or where it should be due to the darkness of the room,he reaches out in the direction of the door and feels the handle.

The darkness was no longer unnaturally thick. David, slightly shaken, gets in the way of Daniel and opens the door, turning on his own electric torch. The trio stumble out into the hallway.

Stumbling out into the hallway Daniel grabs the rails of the stair case. Looking back at the room he mutters "Must have been a draft in the house or something."
Maybe we should probably ponder if hooligans have wandered into the house.
"Well, as exciting as that was, maybe we should finish up the second floor and see to the others?"

Roger gets up from his seat, and sets the selected Business documents aside
"I'm going to check it out."
Could it be they really had someone in the house with them? Roger didn't really want to believe that, but he kept his guard up as he ventured to the stairway.
Calling out to the second floor "Are you alright up there? We heard a door slam."

Stumbling out into the hallway Daniel grabs the rails of the stair case. Baring his weight, the old oak wooden railing creaks menacingly. Daniel quickly releases and backs off. From down below, Roger calls out, "Are you alright up there? We heard a door slam." There is a quick flutter of slight stomping as though someone was running quickly upstairs across the third floor, and another door slam.

HENRY A-ha! The game is afoot! I knew that it was merely vagrants "haunting" this decrepit household. Now, it shant be too hard to capture one and alert the local authorities. We should keep watch of the stairs and dumbwaiters in case they try to make their escape, and corner them until there is no space to hide. Hah hah, the hunt is on!

Admittedly I was waiting on Mr. E to post somethin', but ah well!
"Stay here and wait for the Professor, and keep an eye out if the trespasser makes it down here."
Roger didn't give it anymore thought, whoever's up there is who he's looking for. Trying to keep his footing in mind, he briskly made his way up the stairs.
"Daniel! What's going on? Can you hear me?"

Hearing Roger, Daniel shouts back "We're fine!, the door just shut on us, but we're okay now."
Suddenly the noise of footsteps running upstairs and a door slam reaches his ears, and he looks up.
Looking over to David and Benjamin "Sounds like we're not alone after all, maybe whoever that is has something to do with the door shutting on is."

Suddenly the noise of footsteps running across the floor upstairs and a door slam reaches his ears, and he looks up. Fixed. The sound doesn't come from the third floor staircase. In that general direction, yes, but not running up them, no.Roger has now made it to the other three men.

Benjamin responds with an uncertain smile. "I hope you're right - I'd hate to think that we were alone and all that happened anyway."

"Well now that you're here Roger we can go check out the source of that noise." Looking towards the staircase Daniel eyes the door underneath it.
"Let's start with that door, and then work our way down the hall." Daniel says to the others.
"Maybe it's nothing but the footsteps can't be all of our imaginations." Walking quickly, the others following, Daniel reaches the door under the third floor stair case and attempts to open it.
yea I was reading it wrong, sorry

The small door under the stairs is covered in oak paneling, made to blend with the rest of the walls; to not be obvious, and the reason why becomes apparent when Daniel pulls the door open, releasing a rush of warm, humid, putrid-smelling air. Covering his mouth with a handkerchief, Daniel takes the electric torch from David and shines it around the dark chamber, discovering it to be the linen closet, the sheets and pillowcases literally covered by a thick, slimy layer of black mildew. The time is 12 : 20 PMDoes Roger go back down to begin his research (as was originally scheduled for 12 : 20, or does he stay with the upstairs group for now?

Backing up Daniel breathes heavily into his handkerchief "Well, Hans wasn't kidding when he said he doesn't step foot in the house anymore."
Daniel shuts the door and looks to his left. "I hope we don't run into any other nasty surprises."
